It’s true, quarantine is hard time for all of us. As much as we can make the most of it and keep safe, we all have things that we wish we were doing instead. Wether it’s hanging out with your friends, going to the library or dancing to your favourite tunes at a live concert, we can all relate to how much we miss doing the things we used to take for granted. So I made a list of all of the things that I’m looking forward to doing once quarantine is over. Stay safe everyone!
- Sleepovers
Is there anything better than having a laugh attack at 2 A.M in the morning with your best friends? The movies, pizza, the deep convos and pinky promises, I love everything that goes on at sleepovers. One time, my friends and I put a tent up in our backs yard, and all six of us wrapped ourselves in blankets and slept under the stars. It was an awesome night, and I can’t wait to do it again with them.
2. Shopping
If you don’t know already, I’m a self-confessed shopaholic. Maybe not to the extent of Isla Fisher in ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’, but enough that after my allowance gets to a sufficient amount, I’m dying to splurge it on clothes, make-up or food. All I can say is that you can catch me at the checkout with my purse empty and my arms filled with shopping bags.
3. Going to the movie cinema
Going to the movies is one of my favourite weekend activities. It’s a place where my loyalty card all the time. For only $15, I’ve got myself a movie and a snack! Friends, a romantic comedy on the screen and a bucket full of popcorn – what more could you want?
4. Driving
I’m currently learning to drive. Crazy right? I’m only four months away from getting my licence, and even though it’s a little stresful, it’s super fun. I love driving around in my spare time, and I absolutely can’t wait to be able to drive by myself.
5. Festivals
I was supposed to have gone to a festival this month where I would have seen some of my favourite artists including Clairo and San Cisco. My friends and I were planning on have an awesome weekend of dressing up and cracking out some awesome outfits. As disappointed as I was, there’s always next year!
6. Exploring
I love spending time exploring and finding new places that you never knew existed. When I go for bike rides around my neighbourhood, I always find cool places to sit and relax, or to just observe the environment around me. I’d definetly suggest doing this yourself, and you can skate, walk, drive or even fly to explore a new place.
7. Birthday celebrations
Birthday celebrations are super fun. Wether its a big celebration at the beach, a small sleepover or a couple friends going iceskating, it is always nice to hang our and enjoy a milestone. As I turn seventeen this year, I hope we can have a nice little get together and have a good time!
8. Picnics
My favourite place to have a picnic is definitely at the beach. Grab a bunch of friends, organise a list of things to bring, share it out and you’ve got yourself an awesome afternoon in the sunshine. Don’t forget the good tunes!
9. Photoshoots
Not gonna lie, some of the at-home-photoshoots that people are posting are seriously awesome. How do you do it?! Nevertheless, taking photos are super fun. I can’t wait to find a nice field of flowers, a cool wall or a fancy building and force my little sister to be my personal photographer.
10. Camping
My school camp was postponed, but we will be going through with it later this year. We will be staying in dorms and doing heaps of fun things like swimming, laser tag and acts of kindness towards the community. I’m excited to explore and hang out with my friends, and I’m glad that we decided to change the date. Better to stay safe than sorry!
Thanks for reading! I hope everyone is doing well during this tough time. If we support eachother and stay safe, we can get through it! Make sure to check out my Instagram and my Spotify. Stay awesome! – Jorja Rose

I miss having sleepovers so much with my cousins *cries. Oh, and good luck with your driving later on after the quarantine’s over!! I’m also in the same boat as you! I’ve been driving to school since the beginning of the year. It was a lot of fun and adventure! But I don’t get to drive around as much due to coronavirus 😦 Anyway, stay safe Jorja!
